The Iron Duke

The Grade 2 listed Iron Duke is an Art Deco public house in Great Yarmouth built in the late 1930s and completed after the war in 1948. It displays the distinctive features of the style, sweeping curved frontages and fenestration, flat roofs and the ocean liner aesthetic reinforced by its situation with uninterrupted views across The North Sea. It has fallen into disrepair but it is now in the ownership of the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust. Funding has been secured to carry out roof repairs with the longer term aim to refurbish the whole building and secure its future.
