Private House in the Woods
Planning approval for a new house to replace a dwelling that was at the end of its useful life was gained on 2015 by 4orm Architects. The project was then taken through the detail design and construction phase by Jeremy Stacey Architects and was completed in 2021. Working closely with the Clients, a structural engineer and a landscape architect, a distinctive single storey solution emerged, clad on both walls and roof with modified timber cleanly detailed with hidden gutters and flush fenestration. It sits on a beautifully sloping lawned site, designed by the landscape architect Client, incorporating a formal pool, a vegetable garden, woodland areas and lush planted borders anchoring the house to the ground.
